TRIBUTE TO A FRIEND

Tribute to a Great Friend from Edison - Minimalist Memorial Image with Sunset Background
A heartfelt tribute image by Edison, honoring the memory of a cherished friend. Featuring a minimalist sunset background with warm tones, this image symbolizes remembrance and friendship.

Dear friend,

I hope you can hear me

I know you can hear me from the other side of silence?

The silence as I sit upon this empty seat of memory

With memory I hold the fragments of your kindness,

like echoes in a hollow room.

Each tick tock of the clock is a reminder

A reminder of the extra miles role you played

You cheered my name to prosperity

You took my business like it was your own

And lifted my dreams

As if they were wings to your soul.

But here I am,

I’m left alone with our last conversation,

A text that haunts these hands

frozen in time,

a relic of words I replay

like a broken record in the night.

It getting to the second-year

If only sleep could bring you to my dreams,

But each night is a silent void,

no glimpse of you

Nor a you name to dial on the phone.

Two years ago today,

you staked your name for mine,

stood tall when shadows crept in.

Amidst a sea of fleeting faces,

While others fluttered away

They fly away like butterflies seeking nectar

then disappearing with the wind.

You taught me God’s kindness,

you were everything friendship was meant to be

A brother I never deserved,

A gift taken too soon.

How I wish they’d let you stay,

How I wish they let us plant those dreams

And watch them grow

But they clipped your wings

Before you could fly.

Now, I am surrounded by fair-weather friends

Friends who only linger in sunlight,

But you, you stayed through every storm,

You brought friendship

When the world turned cold.

Sleep well, brother,

Rest where the sun meets the sea,

My forever friend, my forever loss.

Your memory is a scar

I wear like a badge of love.

Journey well, Sunny,

May your light never dim

Wherever you are.

I miss you, always.

From,

Edison
