IT IS OVER, I QUIT

A solitary figure on desolate, cracked ground at dusk, symbolizing exhaustion and resignation, with a towel dropped on the ground and a barren tree in the background

IT IS OVER, I QUIT.

I quit wearing this mask,
A mask of a shadow in a walking stance.
I wake to wear life like an ill-fitted cloak.
This pretense of survival is suffocating me,
So,
I quit.

Don’t ask me to hold the line any longer,
Here is the towel in my trembling hand.
I quit the weight of empty friendships,
Friendships that bring loneliness.
I quit grinding my bones into dust.
I quit inhaling exhaustion,
Smoking my soul into despair.
It’s over.

I walk away from longing unreturned,
From attraction met with disdain.
From your embrace of loneliness,
I will not step inside.
I quit deceiving myself with dreams
Dreams of “maybe.”

I quit climbing the tree of futility,
This tree of futility where its fruits are out of reach,
This tree where its branches crush my dreams.
I quit drinking the bitter dregs of despair,
Waking each dawn to a darker night.

I quit inhaling this smoke.
I quit searching for warmth in indifferent hearts.
I thought life would be a bed of roses,
But the thorns tore my skin.
I found myself drowning in the cup of my tears.
You know what?
I quit.

I quit viewing this mirror of lies,
This mirror that whisper “I’m less”
I won’t break myself into shreds
To atone for sins I never committed
Or even the ones I’ve committed.
I quit living for you. It’s for me now.
This towel I throw is soaked in regret.
Let it fall.
Let me fall.
As I quit.

No more tears shed in the dark.
No more beating this weary heart.
I quit carrying this ghost
The ghost that whispers defeat.

I will go.
Find myself among flowers,
Among trees that stand tall without permission.
I will offer myself the kindness,
The kindness the world refused to give.

I quit this dance with procrastination,
A thief that stole my tomorrows.
I quit crying for those who never turned back.
I’ve learned the only thing I have is me.
This relationship, this charade, this ache
It is over.
You cannot stop me.
It is over. I quit.

DEAR GOD, DON’T GIVE UP ON ME

A broken man kneeling in a dark, stormy forest with arms outstretched, pleading to a glowing divine figure for mercy and hope

A broken man kneeling in a dark, stormy forest with arms outstretched, pleading to a glowing divine figure for mercy and hope

Dear God,

Please don’t leave me on this tempestuous road.

Don’t leave me in this storm and thunder.

Every step I take is heavy with anguish;

I have tilled the earth with my hands,

with my hands, yet I’ve found only dust and despair.

My God, I cry like a leper, don’t leave me now.

This path you carved for me

I have stumbled many times.

I’ve lost myself in shadows darker than the night.

I remember the night I swore never to call on you again.

I remember the hour my hope lay broken,

the shards piercing my soul.

But please, don’t give up on me yet.

I remember the ocean of sin,

its waves pulling me under.

Yes, God, I remember it all.

But who am I?

What am I

When your grace is absent from my equation?

Without you, I am ash in the wind,

A leaf plucked from the tree.

Please don’t leave me in this scary forest of life.

Dear God,

I scream for your mercy.

I’m a drowning man clutching at the hem of eternity.

I know!

I’ve been an ingrate, God!

I’m more a wanderer than a child.

Please don’t give up on me yet.

I remember when I walked atop the sea,

on the sea, yet cursed you for the splashes on my face.

I was blind, ungrateful, and lost.

Please don’t give up on me.

Don’t leave me to perish.

Please, God, hear me.

Please don’t let me stay in this wilderness alone.

I scream till my voice breaks,

Till heaven quakes with my plea:

Don’t give up on me, please.

The road is slippery,

A serpent of terror coiled around my feet.

I’m falling, God.

I’m falling. Please don’t let go of me.

My footing is gone,

And the darkness grows bold.

Please don’t give up on me.

Please don’t leave me.

Oh God!! please,

don’t leave me,

don’t leave me,

don’t leave me here.

I beg with everything I have,

with every tear, every breath,

every whisper of my soul:

Don’t give up on me.

Don’t leave me here alone.

Amen.

DEAR SON: LETTER 11 THE POWER OF FRUSTRATION

A father sends a glowing bird carrying a scroll, symbolizing a message of hope. A young man stands amidst a storm, guided by fireflies, with a stagnant lake transforming into a flowing river, symbolizing resilience and growth

A father sends a glowing bird carrying a scroll, symbolizing a message of hope. A young man stands amidst a storm, guided by fireflies, with a stagnant lake transforming into a flowing river, symbolizing resilience and growth

Dear son,
It’s been a while since I sent the postal bird,
its wings carrying my heart to your world.
Life held my hands hostage,
But the antennas of my ears stay tuned
I stay tuned to every beat of your weary heart.

Dear son,
Frustration knocks like an uninvited storm.
This storm is not to break you, but to wake you
To wake you to the truth,
The truth that says, “You’re meant for more.”
It is not your enemy;
Rather, it’s the thunderclap of change.
Though it rattles, shakes, and unsettles,
I sent it not to break you, son
I sent it to wake you,
reminding you that you are not where you belong.

Dear son,
I sent frustration as a firefly in the night,
To be a flicker pointing you to a path unseen.
It is not a chain but a compass,
Calling you to navigate toward more
Than the stagnant waters of now.

Dear son,
Do not wrestle with it until your soul bruises.
It is not a foe to fight
But a whistleblower unveiling hidden treasures.
Enough of one spot, son
Enough of self-inflicted storms.
For the world awaits your voice,
To be a light that guides them from shadowed lands.

Dear son,
Nine months birthed the baby you,
But it takes years to birth the man you must become.
Let frustration not depress your spirit
But sculpt your resolve.
Feed not the wolves of despair,
But rise with gratitude for it.

Dear son,
Squeeze its juice of purpose,
wring from it the wisdom it conceals.
No longer shall frustration bruise you;
Instead, it will build your capacity
To break chains and chart paths unknown.

Dear son,
You cannot lead others from oppression’s pit
if you’ve never climbed its walls yourself.
Frustration is the forge,
And you, the blade being tempered
To carve paths of promise for the waiting souls.

Dear son,
Arise now, and let frustration be your spark
The spark that ignites your light within.
I urge you, son,
To choose the vision you wish to see,
For you are not defeated; you’re destined.
And remember always, son,
That my endless love holds you.
Until I write again,
Stay strong, son.

ABOUT THE POEM

I wrote this piece “dear son: letter 11 – the power of frustration” in quest to solve the puzzle that comes with the feeling of frustration and how to deal with frustration in life from the place of personal experiences.

I wrote it in guise of a heartfelt letter from a father to his son, but in real sense, it is a letter I wrote to myself and my young friend Sam to emphasize that frustration is not a defeat but a signal for our change, growth, and resilience.

I crafted it to reflect themes like overcoming life’s challenges, finding purpose in tough times, and turning frustration into motivation, this poem provides emotional and practical guidance for those feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

It is perfect for readers seeking encouragement during hard times and ways to channel frustration into positive transformation without seeking encouragement from any external sources. This poem is inspired from the reading in 1Samuel 30 vs 4 and 6

Dear son,

If you are 25, in 15 years, you will be 40,

Same with 35 and 45, 50 and 60 is in a blink

Imagine when this year started,

Now it’s ending in a few days ahead.

The question of how fast that will be is,

See the same in brief 14x cycles

It’s a matter of a sleep and waking

Waking to behold you’re over,

It’s not pressure, my son,

But the art of maximizing time,

For no one has ever truly held its reins.

Back in 2001, son

I was still in primary school,

2007 felt like a century away,

It was so far but now I’ve closed my eyes

My eyes are opened being aged

The age Near someone’s grandpa

Wondering where the years flew?

Dear son,

Time is like butterfly friends

It has wings and flies as the eye’s blinks

Use time wisely, son

Understand that you don’t have time.

Nobody ever did, not then, not now.

May we never be over when we were not done,

May we finish every race before we’re called to rest.

For time, dear son, is a fleeting companion,

And once it’s gone, there’s no turning back.

I wish you well, son,

Till I write again

TRIBUTE TO A FRIEND

Tribute to a Great Friend from Edison - Minimalist Memorial Image with Sunset Background

Dear friend,

I hope you can hear me

I know you can hear me from the other side of silence?

The silence as I sit upon this empty seat of memory

With memory I hold the fragments of your kindness,

like echoes in a hollow room.

Each tick tock of the clock is a reminder

A reminder of the extra miles role you played

You cheered my name to prosperity

You took my business like it was your own

And lifted my dreams

As if they were wings to your soul.

But here I am,

I’m left alone with our last conversation,

A text that haunts these hands

frozen in time,

a relic of words I replay

like a broken record in the night.

It getting to the second-year

If only sleep could bring you to my dreams,

But each night is a silent void,

no glimpse of you

Nor a you name to dial on the phone.

Two years ago today,

you staked your name for mine,

stood tall when shadows crept in.

Amidst a sea of fleeting faces,

While others fluttered away

They fly away like butterflies seeking nectar

then disappearing with the wind.

You taught me God’s kindness,

you were everything friendship was meant to be

A brother I never deserved,

A gift taken too soon.

How I wish they’d let you stay,

How I wish they let us plant those dreams

And watch them grow

But they clipped your wings

Before you could fly.

Now, I am surrounded by fair-weather friends

Friends who only linger in sunlight,

But you, you stayed through every storm,

You brought friendship

When the world turned cold.

Sleep well, brother,

Rest where the sun meets the sea,

My forever friend, my forever loss.

Your memory is a scar

I wear like a badge of love.

Journey well, Sunny,

May your light never dim

Wherever you are.

I miss you, always.

Edison

FIRST LETTER TO DAD

A lonely silhouette in a misty garden at dusk, holding a letter, symbolizing feelings of loss, struggle, and longing for a father's guidance.

Dear dad,

It was last night I saw the postal bird,

on my way to the garden,

it is the garden where I air away pain.

I’ve lost it, dad.

I’ve lost it.

I fought this battle so hard,

So hard that my bones are bending

I’m losing it all,

You said you’d be my light in the night,

You said you’d be here to help me fight,

You said you’d watch me grow,

You told me to stay strong,

You said you loved me,

You said I’d have what to feed the birds

you said I could put all these eggs in your basket,

you said you’d walk with me through the fire.

But dad,

I’m feeling lost.

I watch myself fight this battle alone,

I’ve watched my tiny bones grow

They’ve grown into armor,

The armor that fight day in, day out,

My days are filled with tears,

Yes! I swim in tears of my fears

I’ve watched the sun shut at me on the battleground,

I’ve watched enemies storm my sanctuary,

I’ve watched them invade the walls

The wall where your promises used to stand.

Dear dad,

I’m losing it.

My fingers are fading,

the sun isn’t smiling anymore,

my shadow is slipping away like sand in a fist.

I need strength, dad.

I need a hand to fit into mine,

I need arms to wrap me in warmth

it’s getting cold,

so cold down my feet, dad.

I’m losing it.

Maybe it’s time

It’s time you let me see me,

It’s time you send the rain into my veins

It’s time you wake it before it stops pumping.

It’s time before I fall completely

I’m slowly drowning

Dad, I need help to break free from this cycle..

I can’t find myself anymore,

I’ve watched too many things die,

I can’t watch myself fade away..

Where you at dad?

I’m losing it, dad.

Forgive me, dad,

forgive me for growing up in this lifeless life,

forgive me for learning how to survive alone.

Forgive me, dad,

forgive me,

forgive me.

HOW TO COPE WITH SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND EMPTY DAYS

A minimalist illustration of a person relaxing in a dimly lit bedroom at night, with a warm bedside lamp, cozy bed, and an open window showing a calm, starry sky

The world is shuffling different life’s challenges on a daily basis; the more challenges there are, the higher the incidence of mental health disorders. Sleepless nights and empty days have become common struggles for many across the world.

Whether in a poorly governed society with economic instability and lack of opportunities or in a developed nation with the pressure of work and constant connectivity, stress has become a universal experience.

This article will help you understand why these struggles are widespread, how they impact daily life, and most importantly, how to find instant relief through practical and effective strategies.

What is the root cause of having Sleepless Nights and Empty Days?

Stress often originates from external pressures, and these pressures manifest differently depending on the environment. In poorer societies, especially those facing poor governance, daily stressors come from economic instability, inflation, and lack of basic services.

The feeling of uncertainty about the future often keeps people awake at night, worrying about survival, finances, and the next day.

Poor governance exerts more stress on the population; this is stress due to economic instability, and it is more severe for people living from paycheck to paycheck.

Workplace pressure, social comparison, and the constant need to “keep up” with societal expectations can lead to feelings of emptiness.

People in both environments often experience a disconnect from their sense of purpose, making it hard to enjoy daily life.

You need to identify your stressor; it could be that you’re battling economic instability or struggling with a high-pressure lifestyle. Sleepless nights and empty days are signs of deeper emotional and mental strain.

When you are able to identify your primary stressor, fixing it becomes a lot easier. Stay with me as we examine simple steps on How to Cope with Sleepless Nights and Empty Days:

Live every moment in awareness and mindfulness

One of the most effective ways to cope with stress in any environment is through awareness and mindfulness.

Frequently taking a moment to pause, breathe deeply, and focus on the present moment can help you reduce or alleviate anxiety. One grounding technique is the “5-4-3-2-1” method:

  • 5 things you can see,
  • 4 things you can touch,
  • 3 things you can hear,
  • 2 things you can smell,
  • 1 thing you can taste.

These simple techniques can help you stay present and push away overwhelming thoughts. These practices show you how to meditate for stress relief, grounding techniques for anxiety, and stress management in developing countries.

Living in awareness will help you avoid burnout while working from home, set boundaries in a stressful job, and practice time management for stress relief.

Final words

During the conscious seasons of your journey, ensure you help your body by giving it proper sleep time to regain stability, and don’t be afraid to stand firm in saying no to anything that will add more stress. Stay safe and well.

FAQs

How can I manage sleepless nights caused by economic instability?

Economic instability can create ongoing stress, affecting sleep. To manage this, try establishing a calming bedtime routine. Engage in mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing or progressive muscle relaxation, to quiet your mind before bed. Grounding techniques like the “5-4-3-2-1” method (focusing on senses) can also help ease anxious thoughts about finances, allowing you to rest more peacefully.

What are simple steps to avoid burnout while working from home?

To prevent burnout, set clear work boundaries and schedule short breaks throughout the day. Practicing time management techniques, like prioritizing tasks and ending work at a set time, can create a healthier balance. Mindfulness exercises during breaks can refresh your focus, while a wind-down routine helps signal the end of work, aiding sleep quality.

What are effective grounding techniques for anxiety and sleepless nights?

Grounding techniques can redirect anxious thoughts, helping to relieve stress and improve sleep. Try the “5-4-3-2-1” exercise by listing sensory experiences (things you see, touch, hear, smell, and taste). Another option is slow, controlled breathing exercises to calm the nervous system and reduce nighttime anxiety.

How can mindfulness help with stress from a high-pressure job?

Mindfulness can help you manage workplace stress by increasing awareness of your thoughts and reactions. Practice taking mindful breaks: pause to breathe deeply, notice any tension, and release it. Daily meditation (even for 5 minutes) and journaling after work can also help process stress and promote restful sleep.

Why do I feel empty and disconnected in my daily life, and how can I fix it?

Feelings of emptiness often come from chronic stress, lack of purpose, or unmet needs. To address this, identify your primary stressors and consider what activities make you feel fulfilled. Regularly practicing mindfulness and connecting with supportive people can help rebuild a sense of purpose and joy in your daily routine.

DEAR SON – LETTER 9: LIFE AS A LABOR ROOM

Symbolic labor room metaphor for life's struggles with a solitary figure surrounded by challenges, using hospital colors, representing overcoming frustration and birthing new dreams.

Dear Son,

Again, while walking through the walkway,

I heard your voice.

It was a voice thick with frustration,

I read through the weight of those words unsaid.

Son, you have pinned your gaze on the river’s drowning depths;

You long to birth without labor’s breath.

Dear Son,

Life is like the labor room;

It’s that labor room pain

Your heart would strain to birth anew.

It is the room that reveals hidden virtues.

On its plate is a pang;

They’re not new to the delivery room.

Son, they are scars we all wear,

And they can’t be waived either.

Dear Son,

You are in the delivery room.

There’s no waiver, no pause

It is deliver or die.

I trust you’re eager to hear your baby’s first cry;

If you quit, so does he, and generations are gone.

Dear Son,

Do you want my counsel?

Return to your laboring place,

Return to your delivery room, Son.

Learn each trial there, each lesson’s weight.

They’re the tools, the price to birth dreams.

No waivers here, Son

Accept, endure, and grow.

Stay strong, Son.

With love,

ABOUT THE POEM

I present to you another “Dear Son” series.  “Letter 9: Life as a Labor Room” is a powerful, motivational poem that draws deep parallels between life’s challenges and the intense experience of a labor room.

I wrote this poem to represent a heartfelt letter from a father to his son, offering wisdom and strength to those feeling overwhelmed by frustration and on the verge of giving up.

I tried to paint a picture of the real world as a delivery room to remind us that every struggle and pain we face is part of the requirement to be fulfilled toward birthing our dreams and achieving success.

This poem is for those dealing with frustration in life, especially people who have given their best to chase a dream or perhaps have committed so much into a relationship, yet feel stuck or defeated. It speaks directly to those who are close to losing hope, encouraging them to find the strength to keep pushing through tough times.

I tried to create a picture of life just like in childbirth, there are no waivers or shortcuts, certain situations are a must be endured to witness the joy of achieving your dreams.

If you’re searching for inspirational poetry for tough times, or looking for guidance on how to stay strong when life is hard, this poem will lighten your spirit and remind you of the hidden strength within. It’s a piece dedicated to anyone facing the dark moments of life, pushing through pain, and needing a reminder to stay resilient. I hope you got value in the poem as much as I do.

FAQ

What does it mean when life is compared to a labor room?

The phrase “life as a labor room” is a metaphor for the struggles and pain we endure to birth our dreams and aspirations. Just as a mother experiences labor pains before the joy of childbirth, we too must go through hardships before achieving success. This metaphor emphasizes that struggles are part of the journey to personal growth and fulfillment.

How can I deal with frustration when life gets tough?

Dealing with frustration when life gets tough requires resilience and perspective. It’s important to understand that challenges are part of the process. Focus on small wins, stay persistent, and remember that every trial you face is like a labor pain is necessary for the birth of something new. Embracing this mindset can help you stay strong during tough times.

Why do I feel like giving up after trying my best?

Feeling like giving up after giving your best is a common experience, especially when results don’t align with your efforts. It’s similar to being in a “delivery room of life” where the pain can feel unbearable, but pushing through is essential to achieving your goals. Remember, every setback is a setup for a breakthrough.

What can I do when I’m on the edge of giving up hope?

When you’re close to giving up hope, remind yourself that challenges are temporary. Life’s tough moments are like contractions in a labor room they come to push you closer to your dreams. Reflect on the progress you’ve made, seek support, and focus on the bigger picture to regain your strength.

How can I stay strong when everything feels hopeless?

To stay strong when everything feels hopeless, shift your focus to the lessons within your struggles. Just as labor pains lead to the joy of new life, the hardships you face are paving the way for future success. Practice self-care, seek encouragement, and hold onto your vision these are the keys to resilience.

What does it mean to “birth without labor’s breath”?

The phrase “birth without labor’s breath” refers to wanting success without enduring the necessary struggles. Life doesn’t offer shortcuts; the pain, setbacks, and challenges are all part of the process. Understanding this can help you accept the journey as it is.

Why is it important to embrace the pain of life’s journey?

Embracing the pain of life’s journey is crucial because it builds character and strength. Just like in the poem’s labor room metaphor, every hardship you encounter is preparing you for a greater reward. Embracing these challenges can transform your frustration into growth.

How do I find motivation when I feel like I’ve lost everything?

Finding motivation when you feel like you’ve lost everything involves reconnecting with your purpose. Reflect on the metaphor of life as a labor room pain is not the end but a passage to something greater. Reframe your struggles as preparation for a brighter future.

What is the best advice for someone feeling defeated?

The best advice for someone feeling defeated is to hold on, just like a mother in labor who endures the pain for the joy ahead. Remember, quitting means losing not only your dreams but the legacy you were meant to create. Accept your trials as part of the process and keep pushing forward.

Can frustration be a sign of progress?

Yes, frustration can be a sign of progress, much like labor pains are a sign that new life is coming. When you’re facing obstacles, it often means you’re on the brink of a breakthrough. Don’t give up persevere, and you’ll witness the fruits of your labor.

CAN THIS DREAM STILL COME TO PASS? (part one)

Contemplative person standing on a cliff at sunrise, looking over a vast landscape, symbolizing hope and resilience

The Silent Struggles of a Dreamer

Can this dream come to pass? the answer is “YES” Every ambitious person who dared to dream big in their teens and twenties carries an unspoken burden. They envisioned milestone successes by thirty, stability, and perhaps even the luxury of giving back to those who supported them.

But when thirty-five comes, and those dreams still seem like mirages, doubt creeps in, and a lot can go wrong. They begin to question their future, potential, abilities, and might progress into depression.

This can affect their self-worth and psychological well-being. The haunting question, “Can this dream still come to pass?” echoes through sleepless nights and empty days.

This is to assure you that there are those who’ve tried, failed, and been scarred by the process, yet were able to come out fine. For those who feel they’ve lost everything be it money, health, or hope there is still a path forward. The question now is, how can one move forward when dreams seem so far from what was once wished for?

TAKE A REFLECTIVE PAUSE:

Even in a marathon, there is a time for a break; it gives room for acceptance, examination, and re-strategizing. Taking a break amid chronic failure allows you to reset, regain perspective, and build resilience for a stronger comeback.

How can you achieve this?

To take a real break from chronic failure, step away purposefully, not passively. Here’s how you can apply it in real life:

Set up a Temporary No-Goal Zone:

For a set time (say, two weeks), put all goals on hold and commit to low-stakes tasks that have nothing to do with your ambitions. This lets your mind be free without feeling like you’re “falling behind.” Again, this might not be an easy task, but I did it, and it helped. You need sound mental health to function maximally on your next move.

Channel Energy into Simple Wins

Remember, these are temporary measures, and you ought to allow it to flow freely. Choose an activity you know you’re good at (like cooking a favorite meal, fixing something at home, or maybe taking time to explore nature). The key is doing something with a guaranteed reward, reminding yourself what success feels like, even in small doses.

Create a ‘Reflective Journal’ on Failures Only:

Keep a notepad handy, and write specifically about your past failures. Try to mask your feelings while doing this; the intention is not to dwell but to release. Pinpoint what went wrong, any patterns, and why it hit hard. Writing in black-and-white removes the emotional sting and helps spot lessons or areas for real improvement.

Find a New Skill That’s Unrelated to Your Goals:

Another option is to enroll in a class or pick up a skill completely outside your usual zone, like learning a musical instrument or painting. The aim here is to shift your focus entirely and feel the freedom of exploring without the weight of “failure” on your main goals. If your financial strength at this time isn’t high, you can skip this option.

Take a “Mini-Trip” to Reset Environmentally:

Even a day trip to a nearby town or nature spot creates a break in routine, pulling you out of familiar surroundings where failure lingers. This helps your mind process things differently sometimes; all it takes is fresh scenery. This too is necessary and might not cost much. The goal is to revert your energy in readiness for the task ahead. Remember, we don’t quit until we make it.

Conclusion

Again, you must remind yourself that your dreams are possible and valid; you aren’t giving up until you win.

FAQs

What should I do when my goals seem out of reach?

When goals feel unattainable, it’s beneficial to take a step back and reassess. You can try setting smaller, achievable targets, taking a break to regain perspective, or channeling energy into a different activity to boost confidence and reframe your approach.

How can I stay motivated after repeated setbacks?

Staying motivated after failures involves focusing on small victories, revisiting your core purpose, and reminding yourself of past successes. Reflective practices, like journaling, can help clear mental blocks and rebuild momentum by highlighting lessons learned.

Is it okay to take a break from pursuing my dreams?

What are simple activities that help restore confidence?

Simple, confidence-boosting activities could include tasks you enjoy and excel at, such as cooking, exercising, or exploring nature. These “small wins” remind you of your abilities and can elevate your mood, making it easier to tackle larger goals.

How do I cope with the feeling of failure?

Coping with failure involves reframing your mindset to see setbacks as part of growth. Tools like reflective journaling, mindfulness, and finding new skills or interests can help you process feelings without dwelling on them, creating a foundation for resilience.

THE STRENGTH OF A WOMAN

Powerful image of a resilient woman standing strong amidst shadows, symbolizing the strength, courage, and nurturing nature of women.

Powerful image of a resilient woman standing strong amidst shadows, symbolizing the strength, courage, and nurturing nature of women.

The strength of a woman

The world whispers her worth in shadows,

In shadows where her face is veiled,

Her voice is often bullied in the cage of a narrowed dream.

She yearned to see the sun.

In her clime, culture is friendless,

And religion smiles at her like a smirking smoke,

Yet she pulled up strong.

From childhood, her hands were burdened for the man,

Her gender becomes her only crime.

She tends her baby and the other.

How can the bearer of kings be perceived as minor?

Her place is limited in the palace;

This too, she must fight.

Each month, her body wages wars within itself.

Nature has made her body fragile;

She carries the universe in her womb.

Her womb shifts her form,

Her womb makes her a stranger to herself.

Again, she has to fight through it,

To live or watch herself die on the stretcher.

She is a warrior.

She carries the ancient burden of motherhood,

The labor of birth, the joy and terror entwined,

The weight of a life is left for her to sustain.

Oh, woman, you hold the universe within your embrace,

Your body the soil from which generations bloom.

She cares for the frail and him,

Her hands are a balm for their wounds,

Her shoulders a fortress that bears unyielding storms.

Why does this world lay its endless demands on her?

Yet she endures,

She rises,

She fights through defeat and despair.

Woman! Remember these battles you survived,

Each one a scar you wear,

You wear a testament of wisdom.

You fight through flows and the dry era.

Call yourself a warrior

And not the inferior.

Woman!

Your strength is your power,

If you could bear all these,

Why would you now break under a veil?

Your beauty touches the earth with fire,

Why would you cover it in the dark?

Your voice is that of hope;

Why let it be silenced?

Woman! Lift your head high,

Keep your head high to feel the power in your bones,

For there is no creature alive with such a fierce grace as yours.

Rise, claim your place in the sands of time,

For you too hold the spark of brilliance.

Wakeup, oh! woman

You are strength beyond measure,

Not just a survivor but a beacon,

Not just a warrior but a universe unfolding.

For who can describe thy strength,

Oh, woman.
