STETHOSCOPES AND MIRACLES

It was 9PM, my call had just begun,
The call room was silent.
The stethoscope was swinging like a pendulum.
Today is pediatrics.
The room was dim.
But then
A light.
A smile came like a radiant reflection.
It was from a little girl in her sick bed,
Smiling as though pain is pleasure,
As if fate had stitched her wounds.

“Hello,” I said, masking my surprise.
I saw hope in her eyes.
“Doctor, I don’t want to die.”
I reached out to her tiny hand,
I checked her chart
Leukemia in a severe stage.

It’s leukemia, but I couldn’t smell a hint of death.
Her spirit was stronger than any drug.
I held her hand
So small and light.
I told her, “Child, we’ll fight this fight.”
“God can heal,” I softly said.
Her smile was like the sun in a hospital bed.
That night, something changed in me,
Behind every drug, I should perch God in.

I became her dedicated physician.
She taught me strength beyond the charts,
She stitched her light into my heart.
Weeks wore on while I watched her wear her pain.
She wore those excruciating pains without a stain.
She’d say, “I’m winning, can’t you see?
God is healing through you, through me.”

The day she danced across the floor,
No tubes, no cords, like never before,
I knew hope had done its part
It healed not just blood, but every heart.

And still at night, when rounds begin,
I hear her voice, like violin:
“Doctor, you gave me wings to fly,
Hope is the reason I’m still alive.”
In my hand is a stethoscope of miracle.

DEAR SON – Letter 12 – Face the Reality

A father and son stand together in a stormy landscape. The father rests a hand on his son's shoulder, offering reassurance. The son gazes at the turbulent horizon, symbolizing life's struggles. A soft light breaks through dark clouds, representing hope and wisdom

A lone young man stands in a vast, stormy ocean, waves crashing around him. Above, a faint light pierces through heavy clouds, symbolizing hope amid struggle

Dear son,
The rattles in your mind stirred my sleep,
Those storms woke the silent night.
Like troubled waters, I saw waves of ripples,
A battlefield littered with broken faith.
This letter is a balm for your wounded tides,
A song you have forgotten the lyrics to.
You have lost my words etched in stone,
The commandments of sanity

your sanity fading from sight.

Dear son,
You broke the first seal of wisdom,
You let shadows slip into your sacred place.
You chased the mirage of golden lies,
You left your gates unguarded for thieves.
This world wears a mask of kindness,
Yet behind the smiles, there are wolves.
You cried for help in a hollowed field,
Face the reality, my son.

Dear son,
Life was formed from the root of selfishness,
Every fleeting face is a whisper of  deceit.
Like butterflies, they perch and leave.
They will leave you in a drowning sea.
Rise, my son, and stitch your wounds,
Seal the cracks before the flood returns.
And remember, you’re all I’ve got left.
I love you, son, till my last breath.
Stay strong, son.

I SURRENDER, WE’RE ALL SINNERS

A lone figure kneels in the snow at night, head bowed, hands open in surrender. Mist swirls around them, with dim moonlight casting a somber glow.

Don’t let me drift like a ghost in the wind,
These nights are storms that howl my name.
Madness once caged me

Now it sets me free,
I recall the war I waged with you,
A battle to bend and break you.

I fought to hold your fractured light,
Tried to cradle in your sins
But this snow devours me whole,
I’ve watched you shatter into every part of me
Ohhh! I surrender.

I surrender to your perfect crimes,
To the hands that sculpted my ruin.
Oh, all I want now is to wade in your sins,
Your soul has melted into mine
Ohhh, I surrender.

I would trade my wings for your chains,
Let this binding be our fate.
I’m coming home, through dusk and fire,
I’m returning by every step.
Hope I haven’t outrun time.

Hope I’m not late now?

Oh, let me be the hands that mend,
I will stitch the past with gold.
Spring will rise from all we buried,
I can’t loosen my grip on your perfect heart
I can’t,

 I won’t let go anymore.
